If you use Freeview to get your daily fix of entertainment then it’s worth checking you have the very latest update from this popular platform. It’s just been confirmed that there are some big changes now available to UK homes including some channels changing names, some new things launching and a trio of services shutting down for good.
First, there are those channel changes with services such as Tiny Pop, POP Player and That’s 60’s getting new numbers on the TV planner.

• Tiny Pop – WAS Ch 207 NOW Ch 208
• POP Player – WAS Ch 208 – NOW Ch 212
• That’s 60’s – WAS 71 – NOW 75
• That’s 90’s – MCR – WAS Ch 86 – NOW Ch 78
• That’s TV (UK) MCR – WAS Ch 92 – NOW Ch 86
• That’s TV 2 MCR – WAS Ch – 76 NOW 92
Next up there are some rebrands with two services switching things up. That’s 90’s is now changing over to That’s Dance (Channel 76) and That’s 80’s becomes That’s Dance MCR (Channel 80)
There’s also good news if you fancy some new things to watch with three new channels launching as part of the shake-up.
POP Up arrives on Channel 207, Extreme can be found on Channel 295 and That’s Memories gets a home on Channel 71.
Sadly, it’s not all good news as some things are also closing down for good. It’s been confirmed that TV Extra (Channel 291), TCC (Channel 78) and Earthx TV (Channel 79) are no longer broadcasting content.
Freeview is now advising customers to retune their screens to keep things updated. “On 12th June 2024 some broadcasters are making important changes to their channels,” Freeview explained.
“You will need to retune to update your TV and keep your channels and TV Guide up to date.”
HOW TO RETUNE YOUR FREEVIEW TV
Freeview has issued advice on how to retune devices and here are the steps every user needs to follow.
• Press menu on your box or TV remote control
• Select ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, ‘update’ or a similar option. If you’re asked for a password, the default code is ‘1234’ or ‘0000’.
• Select ‘first-time installation’ (sometimes called ‘factory reset’, ‘full retune’ or ‘default settings’).
•Press ‘OK’ if your equipment asks if it’s OK to delete existing channels and then your retune should start automatically. If you’re prompted to, save the channels that are found.
